Were you or someone you know born before 21st April 1926? (that makes them 86yrs old or more)
If so, The Broadstone Jubilee Funday would like to invite you to their VIP Tea!
You may now know that the Diamond Jubilee will be celebrated in Broadstone on Monday 4th June with a funday and community picnic. As part of this event, those residents who are older than our monarch are invited to partake in a Tea Party.
In the style of a Street Party, complete with food, drink, flags and hats we are offering this free lunch event including transport so all members of our community can be part of this once in a lifetime event.
While families enjoy their picnics on the grass our “Octogenarians Plus” will be seated at tables to enjoy the arena events, classical and patriotic musical pieces and hopefully can enjoy a number of stalls and sideshows in the nostalgic style.
We fully understand that some of this generation would not come to such an event due to lack of transport, or concerns about getting about so we will be laying on cars to collect and return them home whenever they have had enough, and we are intending to provide golf karts to move about the site so our guests can see everything that is going on.
We hope that these VIP guests will share some of their memories of the coronation of Her Majesty, and indeed the coronation of her parents before her in 1937, with the children of 2012.
We are also inviting the families of Julia’s House to enjoy this day with us.
Our problem now is how to find these people within our community. Are they your parents, neighbours, part of your church? Are you one of our potential VIPs.... please don’t be shy!
I am compiling a list so formal invitations can go out in time for the event, and I need Names, Addresses, Phone Numbers (or email for silver surfers!) and age/date of birth...

A big thank you to Flare Web Design for creating the new website which will be a great help in keeping the content of the website current and will be able to show up to date information about the local events and news in the Broadstone and the surrounding areas.

Our goal is to provide an easy resource of information for the local residents of Broadstone and match our printed publication on a monthly basis.
